Matthew Weeks
Matt is a native Houstonian and developed a love for History at a very young age. From helping his father with their miniature toy soldier business to attending many historical reenactments, history became a lifelong passion. Matt attended the University of St. Thomas earning a BA in History and later obtained his Texas Educator Certification from the University of Houston. Matt taught History and English in the private school setting for 10 years and Texas, US, and World History for 6 years with Humble ISD.
Matt has worked for the Battleship Texas Education Program and with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as a certified docent and reenactor for nearly 30 years. He has enjoyed traveling throughout the US to participate in and present living history programs.
Matt and his wife Carrie have been married over 20 years and together have two sons, Daniel and Joshua, who have both been in the homeschool setting since 2018. They have called New Caney home since 2007. In 2013, God led them to their current church home, Key Life Fellowship, and what a blessing it is! They actively serve with the body of believers to share the good news of Jesus!
Matt and Carrie enjoy the outdoors, camping, and gardening. Antiquing and craft fairs are also favorite pastimes. Above all else, Matt prays that in everything he does, all glory and praise is given to God alone. Soli Deo Gloria!
